Fully qualified team of teachers and lifeguards

Swimming pools

We teach our swimming lessons in Reigate and Redhill, Surrey, across 4 school pools - Brooklands, Dunottar School, Royal Alexandra & Albert School and Wray Common Primary School. The venues range from small beginner pools to 25m swimming pools. Find out more about them all here.

Term time lessons

The Flipper Club follows the Surrey County Council term dates for swimming lessons. Meaning that families enjoy the holiday breaks and half terms, although we do run intensive crash courses during some of the holidays. Click here for term dates and check our news for crash course information.

Learn to Swim lessons

We follow Swim England’s Learn to Swim programme to give our swimmers the best aquatic outcomes to follow for every stage. Whilst we follow the Learn to Swim levels, we teach to each swimmers ability and keep progress fluid, moving swimmers up levels when they need, not just at the end of term.

Qualified team

All of our teachers and coaches are qualified through the Institute of Swimming or the Swimming Teachers Association. Our lifeguards hold NPLQ qualifications from the Royal Life Saving Society and all team members over 16yrs are DBS checked. Teachers also complete safeguarding courses & water safety training.

“I have great memories of swimming with The Flipper Club. I swam with them for nearly 6 years. I made lots of new friends and managed to get my Gold and some lifesaving awards. There is a really friendly atmosphere and a range of fun swimming classes.”

Celia

“Thank you so much for all your hard work, you and the team make the lessons so much fun that both of mine can’t wait for the next lesson each week.”

Rebecca

“She’s come on incredibly since this time last summer when she hadn’t had a swimming lesson since she was 18mths old and refused to ever get her face wet even in the bath!

All thanks to you and your teachers!”

Becky

“I just wanted to say how wonderful Matilda’s lesson was last week.  I can’t believe how much she did in just one lesson.  Thank you! She loves it!”

Bridget

“Kaitlyn had a smile on her face the full half an hour, which was so wonderful to see, and although she’s just in the early stages of learning how to swim, she is having the best time doing so! Thanks to your team for making it such a good experience so far!”

Linda

“Through Christine’s teaching at the Flipper Club, both of my children have become confident swimmers. Izzy now enjoys helping out and is keen to do lifeguard training.”
