About our adult sessions

We have several session options for adult swimmers during the week and at the weekend. Starting at 30 min lessons for non-swimmers and intermediates, we build up to 45 min lessons and 1hr sessions - so we can support you as your fitness and skills develop.

We offer term-booked weekly lessons, as well as, drop-in classes.

Available for all levels: non-swimmers, intermediate and advanced

Weekday evenings and weekend sessions

Beginner and Intermediate lessons

We offer 30 min and 45 min lessons for non-swimmers and improver/intermediate swimmers. For beginners you learn the fundamental skills for learning to swim, as well as, building your confidence in the water. Perhaps you haven’t had lessons since you were a child, you may have had a negative experience in the past - we’re here to help you develop a love for the water and support you on the start of your swimming journey.

Our intermediate and improver lessons focus on developing your swimming technique and fitness. Many of our swimmers at this level are breaststrokers and are learning front crawl for the first time. We teach all the strokes and aquatic skills so you can enjoy swimming as part of your regular fitness regime, love swimming on holiday and with your families, so you can take part in the events you’ve always dreamed of.

Advanced swimmer sessions

Our intermediate/advanced swimmers are those that can comfortably swim lengths of the pool in at least one stroke. You may swim for fitness or perhaps you have an event you’re training for. In our 1hr swimming sessions we focus on technique development, building stamina and speed. Whilst front crawl is the predominant stroke swum in these lessons, we do also teach all the strokes.

As a non-competitive club we are a friendly bunch so don’t be put off worrying about what lane you should swim in. We have 3 options in each session and you can take the lessons at your own pace with the support and encouragement from your teacher / coach and fellow swimmers. During each session you will have a lesson plan to follow with instruction from the teacher. All ‘kit’ is provided so all you need to bring is your hat, goggles and a smile!

What to expect in a lesson with us

We provide all equipment required at whatever swimming level you are at, be that floatation noodles, flippers, kick boards, hand paddles or pull buoys. You just need to bring your swimming hat and goggles and be ready to learn and enjoy!

For beginners the teacher is in the water with you to support and help you build your confidence.

For intermediate / advanced swimmers, you will have instruction from the teachers, and in the 1hr sessions, a lesson plan to follow. This will include a warm-up, main set and cool down. We may also sneak other skills into these sessions such as diving and open water skills!

Groups, private and drop-in lessons

Depending on where you are in your swim journey and what you are working towards, you maybe looking for group or private lessons, so we have both options on offer throughout the week - availability dependent.

And we understand that committing weekly isn’t always an option in our busy lives! This is why we have the option for both term-booked weekly lessons, as well as, pay-as-you-go drop in swimming classes.

This gives you the flexibility to learn and train at times that suit you.

Adult lessons are held both at Dunottar and RAA School, in Reigate, Surrey.
