FAQs
Do you teach complete non-swimmers?
1
Yes, we teach swimmers who have never been in the water before. Some of our non-swimmers haven’t been in a pool, some have had lessons as a child but never got anywhere with them, some have had a bad experience in the past, some just never learned to swim and are now looking to change that and learn this important life skill! You’ll be in safe hands with us.
How do I know if I’m an intermediate swimmer?
2
An intermediate swimmer is someone who can swim a length or maybe more. They may be able to do more than one stroke but often we find that swimmers come to us that are competent breaststrokers and want to learn how to front crawl - this would be the level for you. If you want to focus on technique, learning a stroke and building your swim fitness up from a base level, then an intermediate class would be a good fit.
What would make me an advanced swimmer?
3
We would say that an advanced swimmer is someone who can competently and confidently swim several lengths of the pool in one go. Usually they would be able to swim more than one stroke. Some of our advanced swimmers are swimming for fitness and the social element of our lessons, some are training for swimming events such as triathlons. Whatever you’re working towards, we’re here for you!
What do I need to bring?
4
Just bring your usual swim stuff, plus hat and goggles. You can purchase a Flipper Club hat if you don’t have one. We provide all the equipment required for your swimming lessons, which may be noodles and floatation for beginners or pull buoys and hand paddles for advanced swimmers.
What about if I have an injury or medical condition?
4
Providing your doctor hasn’t recommended that you shouldn’t swim or exercise then we can tailor sessions to fit around your abilities. Swimmers can always swim at their own pace and level. You will need to let us know in advance about any medical conditions or injuries which may affect your ability to swim, so we can chat this through with you. We have qualified lifeguards on poolside during the lessons, all our teacher are lifesaving qualified and there is a Defib outside the swimming pool. Your safety and wellbeing is our priority.
